Alfonso Velez
Tuesday June 6th
Alfonso Velez developed a New York audience by playing live. For six years prior to the pandemic, his weekly Sunday evening residency in the West Village grew in attendance and his original songs became staples. His music has been heard on enough TV ads that you've probably heard him, without knowing it was him. Flanking him on bass, drums and keys are NYC monsters Jamie Alegre, Chris Parker, and Ben Hoffman who together with Velez, create a distinctly New York Sound, that nods to early and mid seventies records by Paul Simon, JJ Cale, Greg Perry and Toussaint. Their music plays for keeps, and has converted even the most cynical cross-armed New York audiences. Making their 11th Street debut, the band will be playing songs from an upcoming full-length album, out this Spring.

Jamie Thomas Band / Matt Blake
Wednesday June 21st
Jamie Thomas had his musical epiphany not at the proverbial crossroads but a schoolyard in Astoria, Queens, where the music of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, The Rolling Stones and others touched his soul and inspired him to write songs. He honed his skills as a performer playing New York clubs with his band 3rd Man Out before striking out on his own, making his bones as a solo act in the ground zero of the American folk movement, Greenwich Village's the Bitter End. He later headed south of Mason-Dixon line spending time in Nashville before landing in Austin, TX in 2003. In 2012 Jamie headed west to Los Angeles for a year of writing and gigging at the Viper Room, the Mint, the House of Blues, and Molly Malones. In 2021 Jamie relocated to Clearwater, Florida where he continues to perform his own steeped-in-the-tradition originals with his reinterpretations of other numbers from the great real American music songbook that span from its origins to today.
Formally employed by Lucinda Williams, Matt took on a variety of jobs that included handling merch, assistant tour manager and eventually tour manager. At one point, her guitarist, Doug Pettibone, overheard him playing a song on guitar and urged him to show off his skills to Lucinda. She was so impressed that she had him open on tour, both is the U.S. and abroad. Lucinda also sang a duet with Matt on his first record, All the Dirt in Town. Now, with the launch of his second album, Cheaper to Fly, he's clearly come into his own. A set of songs flush with verve, vitality and lyrics that speak directly from the heart, it represents a major step in a trajectory that continues to bring him closer to his own particular prominence.

Robert Cody Maxwell / Good Thoughts / Garrett Owen
Thursday July 20th
Robert Cody Maxwell:Spirited and hopeful, Brooklyn based songwriter Robert Cody Maxwell’s songs channel the vigor and vision of early heartland rock. Unadorned lyricism and driving guitar arrangements make for a live show that occasionally borders on theatre, pivoting between intimate, folksy confessionals and ballsy rock and roll with clear nods to 1970s New Jersey. There’s a tenacity that runs through the songs, and Maxwell’s stark, brassy delivery reflects a resolve that feels hard-won. Maxwell is collaborator and bandmate to Los Angeles based Silas Nello and Nashville’s Bobby Kitchens, having contributed instrumental work to both Nello’s “Easy Listening for Uneasy People,” (2018) and Kitchen’s “The Best Things” (2020). Garrett Owen:Fort Worth singer-songwriter Garrett Owen draws inspiration from a multitude of sources, not the least of which is a childhood spent in Africa and South America with his missionary parents. Quiet Lives, his most recent release, looks at the push-pull of relationships, love, and loss with musical arrangements bristling/filled with complex chord changes and melodic dissonance. “With a sound akin to the more melancholy side of Jesse Malin, Owen brims with a mixture of mourning and understanding," said American Songwriter. Good Thoughts: Good Thoughts is a rock band that formed in New York City in 2021 by lead singer and songwriter, Alex Petti. They use the best elements of rock, punk and folk music to tell complex stories in a modern alternative rock format.

The Jazzholes
Thursday October 5th
The Jazzholes play classics from the Stones, the Who, Lou Reed, the Dead, the Doors and plenty more. They've been at it since their early NY days, and you will feel the bond of those years of friendship as much as the jammy groove of the music. They are Jason Camillos guitar/percussion, Chris Fischer drums, Paul McDaniel bass, John Nesbett keys, Pete Schellbach guitar, Tony Verbeck guitar, everyone on vocals.
