PJ LaMariana Band event photo

PJ LaMariana Band

Wednesday March 22nd

PJ LaMariana is a seasoned jamband artist based in NYC. Having been enthralled with music since childhood, the long-time musician has made a respectable name in the industry as a killer bass guitarist. During his career, PJ has accompanied artists like Merl Saunders, Keller Williams, John Kadlecik, Oteil Burbrigde and many other great musicians. In the last few years, PJ has taken a huge leap into the spotlight; having developed his guitar, vocal, and songwriting skills, this passionate musician found himself itching to bring the melodies that have meandered through his head over the years to life. After a chance reconnection with an old high school friend-turned-producer, the two eagerly combined their talents and jumped into creating music together.

The Whiskey Biscuits / Leon Sinks event photo

The Whiskey Biscuits / Leon Sinks

Thursday March 23rd

Whiskey Biscuits are NYC folk rockers playing ballads, bangers, and barn burners all in three part harmony. With roots Texas, the Carolinas, and the Motor City, The Whiskey Biscuits bring swampy, twangy, deep fried rock with a vocal touch akin to Dawes.  Think Zevon meets The Band, but at a dusty ol’ honky tonk.                             Leon Sinks is a Brooklyn based act with roots deep in the panhandle of Florida. With players who embrace everything from classic country to blues, folk, soul and punk, Sinks isn't shy about their influences and brings a songwriting style that is at once traditional and  singular to their perspective. Through introspection, humor,  and honesty a new picture of country music from the American south comes to life with a sharp edge.

Wandering Years / Withe event photo

Wandering Years / Withe

Wednesday March 29th

Brooklyn band Wandering Years originated as the solo recording project of songwriter Gene Stroman. After making a string of home-recorded EPs, Stroman recruited friends to translate the Wandering Years sonic palette for a live audience. The amplified Wandering Years has won fans over with shoegaze/slowcore-inspired reinterpretations of earlier material and new songs from their first studio-recorded, full length album, Mountain Laughed (forthcoming 2023).

Withe is the musical moniker for Brooklyn based singer/songwriter, Rubén Alvarado. His debut album, There Is Less Sun, is a psychedelic folk, art rock fever dream swirling with visions of sun lessons, whispering willows, and lightning storms that form where they don’t belong…hazy, emotive reflections on love, identity, and riding the winds of change.

Leah Tash Band / Amos Rose Trio

Tuesday April 4th

LEAH TASH may have been born in 1995 and raised in New York City, but her sound can call to mind places long ago and far away. From a young age Leah was drawn to traditional folk and blues music and found solace in artists like The Carter Family, Bessie Smith and Bob Dylan. These influences, along with her passion for rock ‘n’ roll, jazz and country music, dance through her songs and give them weight. The result is a unique style of Americana that Leah can call her own. Facebook.com/leahtashmusic.              AMOS ROSE is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist based in New York City. He is a founding member of Mama Juke, a roots rock and country blues band. He also performs hot jazz and Brazilian music under his own name and as a sideman with numerous bands around the city

The Ramblin' Kind / The Pine Cats event photo

The Ramblin' Kind / The Pine Cats

Thursday April 6th

The Ramblin' Kind are a New York City country band who have played gin joints all over town for more than a decade. They blend old-school outlaw country attitude and honky-tonk twang with a modern lyrical sensibility where drinking songs and mordant musings come together. One fan's description, "Buck Owens meets the apocalypse," remains an apt assessment. Containing members of veteran alt-country bands The Mekons and Five Chinese Brothers, The Ramblin' Kind have deep roots and gritty gravitas to spare. You can hear some of their music at: www.theramblinkind.bandcamp.com

The Pine Cats, John Putnam and Mike Visceglia have been musical friends and colleagues for decades, first meeting at an audition for recording artist Eve Moon, a fixture in the New York City folk rock scene in the 1980’s. In 2020, John and Mike responded to the pandemic by working on music just as a duo. Inspired by John’s original acoustic music, as well as a collection of classic blues and folk rock classics

Noah Fowler Band

Wednesday April 19th

Noah G. Fowler is a singer-songwriter, Guitarist, and Bassist in Nashville, Tennessee. He is a constant traveler and troubadour playing listening rooms and honky tonks across the nation. His songwriting is folkloric, drawing heavily from Appalachian and Celtic storytelling traditions as well as the 60’s folk revival and many of Texas’s storytelling songwriters - Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, Townes, Steve Earle - yet it fits comfortably in the context of his generation of songwriters and musicians. Musically, he crosses the line over Bluegrass and Country & Western in similar ways as Vince Gill, Jim Lauderdale or Marty Stuart. Noah G. Fowler Website

Noah G. Fowler Website11th St. Bar11th St. Bar11thStBar@gmail.com

Nathan Xander / Van Vreeland

Tuesday May 9th

Nathan Xander’s heartworn country-rock recalls the sincerity and experimentation of songwriters from the ‘60s and ‘70s while remaining firmly grounded in modern day realities. His fifth album French Creek Flood is an acutely perceptive look at life’s transitional moments, capturing Xander and his band before pivotal changes—a new lineup, Xander’s quitting alcohol, and the pandemic’s impact on musicians everywhere. With musical sensibilities inspired by Nick Lowe, Gram Parsons, and Paul Westerberg, Xander sorts through loss and evolving identity as he stands on the threshold of a new era in his own career.

http://www.nathanxander.net

Van Vreeland is a country-influenced folk-rock band that formed over a mutual love for great American country music and songwriting legends like Karen Dalton, Townes Van Zandt, and Neil Young. It’s members are Cooper Naess (drums), Daniel Haas-Umstaedter (pedal steel), Katie Vreeland (guitar/vocals), Shane Preece (bass), and Spenser Naess (lead guitar).

Joe Walsh Quartet

Wednesday May 31st

Bronx boy Joseph Walsh has been a player on the NYC music scene since the early 90’s, first taking the stage in such venues as Tramps and CBGB with his rock band RadioZero, before bringing his croon to such jazz joints as Detour and Zinc Bar with his quartet. His primary musical focus since the early 2000’s has been the Great American Songbook, essaying the works of the greats, names like Gershwin and Berlin and Mercer, and taking as inspiration the best performers of such material, artists like Darin and Bennett and, of course, Sinatra. He both recreates the nightclub heyday of the 40’s and 50’s while establishing a modern, casual musical experience. Kick back and catch two sets of some much needed cool.

Alfonso Velez

Tuesday June 6th

Alfonso Velez developed a New York audience by playing live. For six years prior to the pandemic, his weekly Sunday evening residency in the West Village grew in attendance and his original songs became staples. His music has been heard on enough TV ads that you've probably heard him, without knowing it was him. Flanking him on bass, drums and keys are NYC monsters Jamie Alegre, Chris Parker, and Ben Hoffman who together with Velez, create a distinctly New York Sound, that nods to early and mid seventies records by Paul Simon, JJ Cale, Greg Perry and Toussaint. Their music plays for keeps, and has converted even the most cynical cross-armed New York audiences.  Making their 11th Street debut, the band will be playing songs from an upcoming full-length album, out this Spring.

Jamie Thomas Band event photo

Jamie Thomas Band

Wednesday June 21st

Jamie Thomas had his musical epiphany not at the proverbial crossroads but a schoolyard in Astoria, Queens, where the music of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, The Rolling Stones and others touched his soul and inspired him to write songs. He honed his skills as a performer playing New York clubs with his band 3rd Man Out before striking out on his own, making his bones as a solo act in the ground zero of the American folk movement, Greenwich Village's the Bitter End. He later headed south of Mason-Dixon line spending time in Nashville before landing in Austin, TX in 2003. In 2012 Jamie headed west to Los Angeles for a year of writing and gigging at the Viper Room, the Mint, the House of Blues, and Molly Malones. In 2021 Jamie relocated to Clearwater, Florida where he continues to perform his own steeped-in-the-tradition originals with his reinterpretations of other numbers from the great real American music songbook that span from its origins to today.
