East River Bandits / Wandering Years

Tuesday May 24th

All original "Texas Style" Country Rock Band the East River Bandits played their first ever show at 11th St. Bar and still call it their home.  Since their first of 3 releases came out they have graced such stages as Mercury Lounge and Bowery Ballroom but still keep on coming back.  They have a new album in the works and also always surprise the crowd with their own take on a few choice cover songs.  www.eastriverbandits.com.

Brooklyn band Wandering Years originated as the solo project of Gene Stroman. After releasing a debut EP of countrified emo (On Not Coming Home, 2021) and a compilation of bedroom indie-folk (Pocket Songs, 2022), Stroman recruited friends to fully realize the Wandering Years sonic palette. Fans of Red House Painters, Yo La Tengo, and Jason Molina will connect with earnest lyricism, melodic instrumentation and a subtle twang.

Leah Tash / Drew Jones event photo

Leah Tash / Drew Jones

Wednesday May 25th

Leah Tash may have been born in 1995 and raised in New York City, but her sound can call to mind places long ago and far away. From a young age Leah was drawn to traditional folk and blues music and found inspiration in artists like The Carter Family, Bessie Smith, and Bob Dylan. These influences, along with her passion for rock ‘n’ roll, jazz and country music, dance through her songs and give them weight. The result is a unique style of Americana that Leah can call her own.  Facebook.com/leahtashmusic

DREW JONES  is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter based in New York City. Originally hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee, Drew’s musical journey began when he was young - watching his Grandfather’s Country/Gospel guitar style, and developing a shared love with his parents for Classic Rock. Drew's passion led to a steady diet of skill building and performing, from garage bands in high school, to playing for country rock bands in Nashville, and eventually moving to NYC to pursue his artistic dreams full time. His style can be described as a guitar-slinging, high intensity fusion of Country, Blues, Gospel and Rock. Drew released his debut single “I Never Sleep” in the summer of 2020, and has multiple new singles currently in the works.

Wednesday June 15th

Jamie Thomas had his musical epiphany not at the proverbial crossroads but a schoolyard in Astoria, Queens, where the music of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, The Rolling Stones inspired him to play music and write songs. He honed his skills as a performer playing New York clubs with his band 3rd Man Out before striking out on his own, making his bones as a solo act in the ground zero of the American folk movement, Greenwich Village's the Bitter End. He continues to perform his own steeped-in-the-tradition originals with his reinterpretations of other numbers from the great real American music songbook that span from its origins to today. http://www.JamieThomas.org

Dark Streets (a tribute to The Pogues)

Tuesday June 28th

Dark Streets are a NYC Celtic punk collective dedicated to honoring the music of The Pogues. Two ex-members of Irish rock band, The Kissers, relocated to NYC and never lost their love for the songwriting of Shane MacGowan. After a number of years tossing around the idea of reuniting their musical friendship over whisky and stout, they recruited members of The Last Nites and Halfstep to round out their new musical endeavor. Dark Streets not only play the finest of Pogues songs, they also dip into the catalog of The Dubliners, Flogging Molly, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Johnny Cash, and alongside jacked up traditionals and a few originals. Come have a pint on the Dark Streets.

PJ LaMariana

Thursday August 18th

PJ LaMariana is a seasoned jamband artist based in NYC. Having been enthralled with music since childhood, the long-time musician has made a respectable name in the industry as a killer bass guitarist. During his career, PJ has accompanied artists like Merl Saunders, Keller Williams, John Kadlecik, Oteil Burbrigde and many other great musicians. In the last few years, PJ has taken a huge leap into the spotlight; having developed his guitar, vocal, and songwriting skills, this passionate musician found himself itching to bring the melodies that have meandered through his head over the years to life. After a chance reconnection with an old high school friend-turned-producer, the two eagerly combined their talents and jumped into creating music together. Keep a lookout for PJ’s debut single “Cold War” out late 2021.

Sunday Night Traditional Irish Seisiún

Sunday September 4th

Every Sunday night is our Traditional Irish Seisiún.  It is one of the longest running seisiúns in NYC and is hosted by Tony DeMarco (fiddle) and Eamon O'Leary (Bouzouki).  Other guest musicians join in as the night goes on. In the past the seisiún has been the subject of an article in the NY Times and Tony appeared on “Live From Here” with Chris Thile on NPR. Without a doubt one of the best things you can do on a Sunday Night in NYC!
