Every Sunday

Every Sunday night is our Traditional Irish Seisiún.  It is one of the longest running seisiúns in NYC and is hosted by Tony DeMarco (fiddle).  Other guest musicians join in as the night goes on. In the past the seisiún has been the subject of an article in the NY Times and Tony appeared on “Live From Here” with Chris Thile on NPR. Without a doubt one of the best things you can do on a Sunday Night in NYC!

Every Monday for over 10+ years now is Jazz Night at 11th St. Bar.  Our house band, "The 11th St. Bar Quintet", is comprised of Richard Clements piano, Taro Okomoto drums, Grant Stewart tenor sax, and Joe Magnarelli trumpet.  It is a show not to be missed.  Come on down and support our local musicians!

For 30 years, Greg Humphreys has been a bandleader, guitarist, songwriter and singer, touring across the U.S., Canada and Europe, fronting North Carolina bands Dillon Fence and Hobex and his NYC-based Electric Trio.  Greg’s songs have been featured in the Netflix hit series OBX and the ‘90s classic film “Rounders.” He has released albums on Atlantic Records and London Records in addition to the catalog of music released on his own Phrex Records imprint.   Greg continues his first-Wednesday-of-the-month residency at 11th Street Bar with some of NYC’s finest musicians.  https://www.greghumphreys.net/ 

Sanford: is the brainchild of Brooklyn based, but South Carolina born musician Jay Sanford. He does all of the writing, arranging, and performing for his recorded music, including his previous original releases: “Gone to Hell” and “Farewell”. Pulling from a wide range of musical influences, Sanford: curates his live show setlists across genres and decades. From Hank Williams to Phoebe Bridgers to Sam Cooke to Joy Division to Fats Waller to The Rolling Stones, he subscribes to the idea that good music is good music…And to quote Frank Zappa, “Music is the best”.  Catch them here the first Thursday of every other month.

9:30pm - Lucky 7 is back with a vengeance. Formed  by Barry Ryan (Rockats) and Kenny Margolis (Mink DeVille,Cracker), Lucky 7 recorded three albums and toured The USA, Canada, Europe and Scandinavia from the mid 80’s to the mid 90’s.  Writers from Rolling Stone and The New York Times have called their music zydebilly and a Cajun rhythm & blues rock’n’roll gumbo.  Back with Ryan and Margolis are percussionist Boris Kinberg. Joining Lucky 7 is drummer Dave Donen, who has played with many great artists including Chuck Berry, Tim Hardin, Lenny Kaye and Marc Ribot and has played on 65+ recordings.

8:00 - The emergence of Felice Rosser’s FaithNYC reveals another facet of the seemingly infinite diamond of Black American music. Born in Detroit, she experienced Motown, the 1967 riots, Funkadelic, The MC5, The Stooges and The New York Dolls before moving to New York City for college. Blown away by Television at CBGB’s, she became part of the scene, befriending Samo— Jean Michel Basquiat’s tag at that time—and starting to write songs and play bass. Inspired by punk’s DIY attitude, Rock & Roll, Funk, Free Jazz, Dub, Reggae and the new Hip Hop scene all became part of her musical language. She was the bass player in Brooklyn’s all-female reggae band Sistren before she formed FaithNYC, which became part of Vernon Reid’s Black Rock Coalition.  Guitarist Al Maddy was a member of Sire recording artists The Nitecaps and has played with artists as varied as Donovan and the Moroccan Jajouka master Bachir Attar.  His funky psychedelic style  helps create groove and space in FaithNYC's music.

The now famous Second Wednesday of Every Month Residency is always a full on treat of a performance. Fronted by P.J. O'Connor and Billy Ryan with the backing band of Chris Fischer, Brendan Ryan, and Patrick Carmichael… although you never know who may show up and join them. They adapt their show every month with new artists in their catalogue. No two shows are ever the same!

The Wonder Licks are an Americana band from New York City consisting of Brian Carey (bass), Maria Ferrugia (tambourine), Sam Weinberger (keys), Tyler Reina (drums), and Jacob Wunderlich (vocals, guitar). They want to melt your face with the best music you’ve never heard.

Mike Ferrio's previous band, the much-feted Tandy, came to an end with the untimely death of his musical partner Drew Glackin. Good Luck Mountain is Mike Ferrio's response to the shock and grief of that event, and also a fresh start in a new direction. Good Luck Mountain is the name he's adopted for his new band as well as the name of the record; "seasoned players", he calls his new band mates, who include Konrad Meissner from The Silos (with whom Drew Glackin also played) and Matt Mays, once of The Guthries, but there's a host of other players on this album which features music that is carefully built - layers of sound that spring from some synthesiser atmospherics in the background and with changes of emphasis that are characterised by use of strings or horns.

Big Mamou plays a rocking mix of original and traditional Cajun, Country, and Zydeco. They absolutely packed the house and blew everyone away at their “Fat Tuesday” performance last year. Fronted by accordionist/singer John Sherman and singer Julianne Fenhagen, the lineup also includes guitarist/pedal steel player Michael Levine, upright bassist Jim Fenhagen, drummer Billy Loos, and trombonist Fred Parcells with new addition Steve Skinner on acoustic guitar and piano! The Hugh Pool Band has a residency here at 11th St. Bar on the third Thursday of each month unless Hugh’s out of town rocking the rest of America. Hugh is a musician, songwriter, producer, and member of the New York Blues Hall of Fame who plays guitar in a unique style that melds traditional Delta blues, country music and classic and psychedelic rock and roll. His instrument of choice is a National Steel Triolian, a resonator guitar somewhat like a Dobro, played with a spark plug wrench through an Ibanez TS-9 overdrive pedal and a Dunlop Dyna comp compressor. The man Jerry Lee Lewis once likened to “that Cash kid, but good” has enjoyed a long and varied career. Jack Grace is that man: a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who’s been touring and recording for over 25 years. His duet with Norah Jones, “Bad Wind Blowing” was a standout tune on his last recording, Everything I Say Is A Lie, produced by Joan Jett and Steve Earle’s former guitarist Eric Ambel. He’s performed with a diverse collection of artists, like the aforementioned Lewis as well as Doc Watson, Fishbone, Junior Brown, The Meters and has even shared the bill with Merle Haggard. With a revolving cast of characters, he leads anything from simple guitar, bass, and drum trios to seven-piece ensembles complete with piano, steel, trombone, and trumpet. He will be performing on the 3rd Tuesday of the Month at 11th St. Bar going forward.   JackGrace.com

Originally formed in Jackson Heights, Queens in the mid 90's "3rd Man Out" played all over NYC and established themselves as one of the premiere original roots rock bands in NYC. Established by Jamie Thomas (songwriter, guitar, vocal) and Joey Humel (drums, recording engineer, producer) the band released an EP in 1998 titled "10-63", named after the address of their recording/rehearsal studio in Long Island City, Queens. After going their separate ways and starting their own musical projects, they are reuniting for one night only to celebrate Jamie's 50th birthday on January 22, 2025. The set will include 3rd Man Out classics, new tunes and several covers of our biggest influences. It will be a great night of music, friends and celebration. Our friends Matt Blake and Carlos Calvo are also on the bill.

HUSH UP is an instrumental rock trio that interprets classic songs from artists like Elton John, The Beatles, Queen, and David Bowie. This new band is comprised of Steve Goulding on drums (Mekons, Graham Parker and the Rumour, Fond Farewells), Jason Darling on guitar (James Maddock, Leona Naess), and Scott Anthony on bass (Fond Farewells, Rebecca Turner, engineer at Storybook Sound.)

9:30 - The Ramblin' Kind are a New York City country band who have played gin joints all over town for more than a decade. They blend old-school outlaw country attitude and honky-tonk twang with a modern lyrical sensibility where drinking songs and mordant musings come together. One fan's description, "Buck Owens meets the apocalypse," remains an apt assessment. Containing members of veteran alt-country bands The Mekons and Five Chinese Brothers, The Ramblin' Kind have deep roots and gritty gravitas to spare. Formed in 2010, the Bakersfield Breakers are a three-piece instrumental group from New York City that consists of Keith Yaun (Guitar), John Hamilton (Bass Guitar), and John DiGiulio (Drums).  The band’s mission is to reawaken the classic guitar-driven sound of 1950’s Bakersfield and the driving tunes of 1960’s surf rock. The Whiskey Biscuits are a five-piece country-rock band based in Brooklyn, NY.  Formed over a mutual love of American roots music, including classic country and rock & roll, Whiskey Biscuits sets serve as a tribute to undersung songwriters (Flying Burrito Bros, John Prine, Warren Zevon), radio favorites (The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty), and a catalog of original music influenced by all of the above. 8:00 - The Saint Mark’s Saints were born of Covid on the legendary and world famous Saint Mark’s Place in the basement of their bar ‘East Village Social’in early 2021. Their New York City roadhouse style of music has been resonating in the East Village since they struck their first chord. The Saints set consists of originals and obscure country, Irish and blues covers. The Saint Mark’s Saints are all pedigreed local musicians from the East Village with Gerard Gerard on vocals, Thomas Volume & Kid Bowery on guitars and Roger Mack on drums.

New York City-based, British-born singer/songwriter James Maddock makes literate and heartfelt folk and Americana-influenced music. Puma Perl and Friends has been merging Puma’s poetry with rock and roll and music of all genres for over 10 years. Joff Wilson (guitar), Joe Sztabnik (bass), and Dave Donen (percussion) play both original compositions and covers behind her spoken word. Each show includes a couple of songs by Joe and Joff, and the band is often joined by other friends playing everything from sax to harp to trombone to violin. Puma and the other band members have been stalwarts of the NYC downtown scene and have performed individually and with other projects throughout the United States and Europe.

SoulCake singer/songwriter/guitarist Joff Wilson leads the band; Laura Sativa brings flute and percussion to the arrangements and Sarafe is a distinctive presence on bass.  SoulCake has earned a reputation for shows that are fun and full of surprises, from unannounced guests and spontaneous repertoire to new interpretations of audience favorites.

The Hugh Pool Band has a residency here at 11th St. Bar on the third Thursday of each month unless Hugh’s out of town rocking the rest of America. Hugh is a musician, songwriter, producer, and member of the New York Blues Hall of Fame who plays guitar in a unique style that melds traditional Delta blues, country music and classic and psychedelic rock and roll. His instrument of choice is a National Steel Triolian, a resonator guitar somewhat like a Dobro, played with a spark plug wrench through an Ibanez TS-9 overdrive pedal and a Dunlop Dyna comp compressor. Adam Masterson, one of the most promising rock ‘n’ roll artists to come out of the UK in recent years, has released his anticipated sophomore full-length album, Time Bomb.  to listen. The 12-song independent collection features the previously released singles “Take A Little Love,” “Crazy Rain,” “Avenue Walk,” “Bring Back The Freaks,” and “Runaway” as well as the title track, 

New York City-based, British-born singer/songwriter James Maddock makes literate and heartfelt folk and Americana-influenced music. Chris Campion has one of the longest running residencies at 11th St. Bar, "The Last Thursday of Every Month."  He brings an eclectic mix of both original and cover songs tied together by some of the best between song banter you'll ever hear. He is joined by any number of his musical co conspirators including Bennett LaGreca, Paul Giannini, Bill Ryan, Mike Cranmer, or even his brother, Billy Campion. No real event here, we just usually get together on what was Jack's Birthday and celebrate the greatest guy to ever walk through the doors to this bar.  He was the King of Happy Hour and we named our Happy Hour after him.
